Sleep Like a Tiger by Mary Logue

Sleep Like a Tiger by Mary Logue
Sleep Like a Tiger (Caldecott Medal - Honors Winning Title(s))
This book tells the story of a little girl who does not want to go to bed and tells her parents she is nto tired.  Her parents are very clever and say that it is fine that she is not tired but step by step ask her to do the things she needs to do to get ready, like put on pajamas and get into bed.  The little girl asks her parents if different animals big (like a whale) and small (like a snail) go to sleep.  This is a Caldecott Honors winning book and the illustrations are beautiful. The colors are vibrant and there is a great attention to detail in each of the pages.
This book sets a very calm and mellow tone which is perfect for quiet (especially good night) times and addresses the stalling tactics many children employ with parents and caregivers.  The questions that the little girl asks are ones which could spark interests and discussion.
