Welcome to being a teenager, dealing with a misunderstood religion, friend and family drama, and... super powers?

Ms. Marvel starts out as an awkward teenager just trying to get through high school when suddenly everything changes!! Well... she may get super powers, but she certainly doesn't get any less awkward.  She faces growing dangers, and growing fears about how she is going to handle her new found powers. Kamala struggles to come to terms with her many identities, her muslim religion, and learning how to control her powers.

Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal and the entirety of the Ms. Marvel series is illustrated beautifully, with bring colors, clean lines, and funny details hidden on every page.
The language is clean, and when violence is shown it is portrayed in a non-graphic way that is appropriate for all ages. In short, Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal is an excellent first book in the series, and sets the tone for more excellence to come.

I would recommend Ms. Marvel to all who have ever enjoyed a super hero. She is a powerful young woman who is funny while still kicking butt. She deals with real life (and not-real life) issues through beautiful illustration, humor, and with her super powers.
