The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams

The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams and illustrated by Donna Green is a book I always enjoyed as a child. This a beautiful story about a boy and his love for an old stuffed velveteen rabbit. The boy loves him until his whiskers have fallen off and his has lost his shape.
The boy eventually becomes very ill with Scarlet Fever, and the doctor puts his old toys in a bag (including the rabbit) to burn because of germs.  But a nursery magic Fairy ended up saving the velveteen rabbit and turning him into a Real rabbit because of how much the boy had loved the toy.
The story is beautifully illustrated and is a book children of all ages can enjoy.
