Abuelo and The Three Bears by Jerry Tello, Illustrated by Ana López Escrivá

This is a bilingual, multi-cultural story that builds on the traditional Goldlilocks and The Three Bears classic.  In this story Abuelito (grandpa) is telling a littl boy named Emilio the story about three bears and Trencitas (a little girl with long black braids). The book uses the traditional story, exchanging some of the traditional aspects of the Golidlocks story for Mexican culture classics. For example, instead of porridge, the osos (bears) leave their beans uneaten. The story does a great job at highlighting Mexican culture and its staples of food, family and love.
