A Diary of a Fly is just plain gross, but so much fun. Apart from being ‘just plain gross’ the reader learns more about a fly than they can imagine.  This comical and informational story is from a young fly’s point of view as the fly's diary entries exclaim wild adventures in school and daily life.  The author, Doreen Cronin and Illustrator, Harvey Bliss, are New York Times Bestsellers with their other book, Diary of a Worm. And guess what? They also created Diary of a Spider.  This book would be a good read in 2nd grade or so, especially during science time.  Students could make the scientific connections when the fly talks about, for example, the babysitter came with a frog and all of the children did not move and of course, behaved really well.  Why would the children flies not move when a frog is around? I, personally, always enjoy a book from a different point of view.  Lily Woll
