What if the Zebra's Lost their Stripes?

This short picture book explores the meaning of black and white; through zebras. Some lose their white stripes and some lose their black stripes. Now that they don’t look like each other, would they fight? Would they live just the same? Would they live in different lands? Many of the questions presented in the book are the same as those presented about civil rights. This book could be used as a prelude to discussions regarding the civil rights movement and help students begin to understand the segregation laws that were in place.
