If America Were a Village

Smith has been a teacher for over 25 years and was the creator of the award-winning curriculum, “Mapping the World by Heart.” Smith sets out to help children better understand the world we live in. Second in his series, (his first looks at the world in If the World Were a Village) Smith has collected statistics on the people who live in the United States. He has broken down his findings in an easier to digest system by reducing 306 million people living in America to 100 villagers in a village. With chapter like pages, Smith presents statistics in understandable terms looking at topics including: our population and race make up, the languages we speak, what our families are like, religions we practice and includes fun facts like how many televisions, cars and cell phones we own.
