Clink reviewed by Danya-Science Fiction

Genre: Science Fiction

Clink is a fun science-fiction children’s book that is sure to interest young students with creative minds, and get creative juices flowing! Clink follows the struggles of Clink, the old robot that sits on the shelf while patrons pass it by to purchase newer and more exciting robots. It used to be the cool robot that made toast and played music, but over time, it slowly became obsolete to robots that could clean up after your mess, give you a new hair style, or make you freshly baked cookies on the spot. The story nicely depicts the advancement of technology in our ever changing world.

Though most children preferred the new robots, there was one creative mind who found Clink to be the perfect robot and has big plans for him. Highly recommended for early primary grade students. This text is especially interesting to read as part of science lesson that includes new engineering standards from NGSS.

  1. Looking forward to reading this book to my young students! They love to build and create with wood and recycled materials and I think that a book that involves an old, and somewhat obsolete robot, would spark their imaginations and pique their interest. Thank you!
