Graphic Novel, Zen Pencils Volume Two Dream the Impossible Dream By Aung Than, reviewed by Paula Kerns

This is a Gavin Aung Than's sequel to Zen Pencils: Cartoon Quotes from Inspirational Folks.  All the cartoons are based on the themes of dreams based on famous and inspirational by people like Maya Angelou, Jim Henson Sir Ken Robinson, Isaac Asimov, the Dalai Lama, Amelia Earhart, William Shakespeare.  He also spotlights others who are not as well known like Chris Hardwick who started the Nerdist Empire at www.nerdist.com and comedian Amy Poehler who has started projects to empower young girls and promote women's rights via www. amysmartgirls.com .  The theme of each short cartoon is to follow your calling and conquer your fears.  I would enjoy using these short stories to jumpstart conversations and personal writings on perseverance and our personal dreams.  This is also a great resource for a quick overview of people students might want to learn more about or visit their sites.   Aung Than particularly highlights the challenges and rewards of being an artist or a "nerd."
