Nicole Rodgers- Walk Two Moons

Enter Salamanaca Hiddle, the one with the peculiar name but familiar story...

Life was just grand for Sal before her father uprooted her from her beloved home on the farm in Bybanks, Kentucky. She misses the trees, the watering hole, and her chickens, but mostly she misses her mother, who had "gone" to Lewiston, Idaho for whatever reason. After the time jump to a somewhat dangerous but exciting road trip across the country with her grandparents to see her mother, Sal retells the gap of time between being uprooted and the present. As the story unfolds, Sal pieces together her life before she left Bybanks, where her father and mother were seemingly happy, her new life in Ohio, where she befriends an imaginatively obnoxious Phoebe Winterbottom and how those stories collide.
