Ruby the Copycat by Peggy Rathmann
Ruby is a new student and want to be accepted by her peers. Angela is popular with everyone and befriends Ruby. Ruby believes to be liked she should be like Angela, so she copies everything Angela does. At first Angela is flattered, but then begins to get very annoyed by Ruby's copycatting. Ruby then begins to copy the teacher Ms. Hart. Ms. Hart helps Ruby see that she has very unique and wonderful talents of her own. This is a great story to foster children's uniqueness and creativity, and most important self-esteem.
