The Sound of Colors: A Journey of the Imagination

The Sound of Colors: A Journey of the Imagination by Jimmy Liao, poetically follows a young woman through her journey of finding what she has lost since becoming blind. Liao’s illustrations and colors capture how the young woman is imagining her surroundings, showing her creativeness, her questions, and her uncertainties. Not being able to see, she creates a colorful world that is real but imaginative to fill her heart once again. As a cancer survivor himself, Jimmy Liao “hopes that his work can brighten the lives of others” by looking into their hearts. “The Sound of Colors has been adapted into a stage play as well as a motion picture produced by award-winning Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai.”
